Breaking the Cycle: A Mom’s Therapy Story

"There's a big difference between 'baby blues' and post-natal depression,"

"We might not even realise that we need help... because getting out of depression..."

This week our guest shares a deeply personal story, but one that inspires true courage, perseverance, and self-determination - to make a change, and become a better Mom for her baby boy.

Kelebogile is a brave Mom and lives to share her truly remarkable journey about her mental health, and the love for her only child.

We are also joined by Elouise Cloete, a psychology coach, to shed some light on the potential red flags for depression.

ABOUT KELEBOGILE RAKOMA

Kelebogile Rakoma is a proud mom to a lively two-year-old boy. Originally from Rustenburg and now based in Randburg, she describes herself as the outspoken and adventurous youngest of four daughters.

Her passion for construction led her to complete a Diploma in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at the University of Johannesburg, followed by a Project Management qualification at the University of Pretoria. Beyond her professional career, Kelebogile’s creativity shines through her entrepreneurial ventures. At heart, she is a true lover of life.

ABOUT ELOUISE CLOETE

Raised in South Africa, Elouise’s desire to mend broken things was born from a turbulent family environment. Her journey took her across Europe, and upon returning home she built a successful career in corporate event management. Yet, her struggle with infertility challenged her deeply, leaving her feeling lost and estranged from herself.

As a successful Type-A personality and business owner, Elouise experienced first-hand the significant impact infertility had on her mental health, both during and after her journey. This struggle led her to develop a passion for Positive Psychology, earning her Accreditation in Coaching from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the Conscious Coaching Academy (CCA) in the UK.

Her own diagnosis of premature ovarian failure reignited her childhood dream of helping others. By embracing her infertility journey, Elouise developed a passion for helping women and individuals who have faced multiple failed IVF and donor egg IVF attempts. She focuses on coping with the aftermath of infertility, equipping women for the road ahead, and guiding them toward finding peace, acceptance, and ultimately the ability to thrive.

Today, Elouise stands as a beacon of hope, proving that within our struggles lies immeasurable growth and strength.
