Baby Bullet brings you Elana Afrika's Baby Brunch 2017
The inaugural Elana Afrika's Baby Brunch, brought to you by Baby Bullet, took place on the 21st of October 2017 in Cape Town and was a morning filled with camaraderie, plenty of laughter and lots of tears.
Elana is a working mom of two and a TV presenter with kykNET. “This event is very near my heart. It’s about getting moms together and letting our hair down. There are many opportunities out there for moms to talk about nappies and breastfeeding - this is not one of those mornings! Rather, this event is about how to look after yourself and managing your life. I remember what is was like when my babies just arrived. Some days are amazing and some days are hard. We are talking uniting, sharing and holding hands. Elana Afrika’s Baby Brunch is about that balance” says Elana.
Elana Afrika’s Baby Brunch 2017 was presented by Baby Bullet by NutriBullet in association with Kids Emporium, The Gro Company, Miglio Designer Jewellery and Kabrita. House of Thembiso is the charity beneficiary. “We’re extremely grateful to our support sponsors for believing in our moms, my dream and our future. They have been around since the inception of this project and I’m delighted to take them on this journey”. says Elana.
The inaugural event, presented by Baby Bullet by NutriBullet, saw TV personality and mom of two, Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, present a morning of inspiration that included the sharing of knowledge, conversations about parenting as well as fun and pampering! Her guest speakers included renowned sexologist Dr Eve, the authors of new Weaning Sense Meg Faure and Kath Megaw, a food preparation demonstration by celebrity chef Zola Nene, a conversation on holistic living with Dr Leila Sadien and a single-parent conversation with radio personality Benito Vergotine.
What Attendees had to Say
It was an amazing opportunity to just discuss and gush about being a mom without judgement. Made new friends and already planning play dates.
I love the concept and will definitely come to the next one! Sometimes I feel like I’m alone in the things I find challenging about being a mom and after the event I felt like I’m not alone and also learnt a lot from the speakers.
I had such a great time. It was nice being able to be around moms who has the same struggle that I do. I found comfort in hearing everybody's stories.
Thank you for an amazing event. The goodie bags was such a treat. What I took away from the event is that we as parents/moms should start our own village because on our own we struggle but with the help of others parenthood is less scary.
